Inna Valerie Lyon was born and raised in the city of Taganrog, Russia and now lives in Utah, USA. She attended Trade University in Novosibirsk and then the University of Utah, where she attained degrees in engineering and accounting respectively.

After working for over 20 years in public catering, Inna moved into the corporate world where she worked for more than 15 years. Today she works for Alpha Warranty Services by day while writing in her spare time.

Having always enjoyed the written word, Inna took a creative writing course before she attempted writing in English. Now she is a member of The League of Utah Writers, Blue Quill chapter and the Infinite Monkeys chapter, writes contemporary fiction, short stories and flash fiction, has had her work accepted for two anthologies and is now working on her first sci-fi novel. She was recognized as a new voice in 2021 Olive Woolley Burt writing contest and received two awards: First Place in Flash Fiction Category and First Honorable Mention in Creative Non-Fiction for culinary essay.

Today, Inna lives with her American husband in Utah and together they have 6 children and 8 grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys biking and yoga, has completed two triathlons and a duathlon, as well as numerous running competitions and just generally enjoys sports of all kinds. She also has a penchant for jewelry making, painting with acrylics, craft and cooking. When she gets the chance, she likes to travel and learn about new cultures and cuisines.

Inna’s greatest desire is to become a published author in both English and Russian, but she also wants to be more than that and be able to help others to find their own passions in life.
